“Dreamscapes” - A window into Stories
Dreamscapes is a project made with and for SET, created by Marieke Luthart & Lynn Smit. SET is a community housing project from De Alliantie.
Through converstations, residents shared their dreams of places they long to visit. These personal stories were turned into illustrations and brought to life on the windows throughout all five floors of the building. The windows now offer a glimpse into imagined futures, where borders fade and dreams take flight.
The project honours each person’s story, celebrating imagination, the freedom to dream, and our shared desire to connect with places that stay with us — whether remembered, imagined, or simply loved.

On the left, we’re taken to Mogadishu, walking through the streets of Somalia’s capital, surrounded by tall buildings and the rush of city life.
On the right, a dream of Morocco — in a big family home, gazing out the window and enjoying aunt’s tajine, full of flavour and memory.
